Reactions to the Final4 draw

Today at noon, it has been drawn that Telekom Veszprém will play against THW Kiel on 28 December in Cologne in the semifinal of the VELUX EHF Final4. After the draw we asked for the opinion of our head coach, sports director and team captain.

David Davis – Head coach

It is fantastic that the Final4 will be held, and that the EHF still believes that it can be organized. Whatever happens, it is good to be involved and we really hope we can play. We will meet Kiel once again, by that time for the third time this season. It would be silly to only look at one opponent. In conclusion, we are happy to be here and we are positive about the future.

László Nagy – Sports director

At this level it almost does not matter who your opponent is, especially if you want to win the Champions League. None of the four teams will have an easy job against their opponents. We have fresh experiences about Kiel, and luckily those are positives as well. This is a difficult pairing.

Máté Lékai – Captain of Telekom Veszprém

You cannot get any easy opponent here, and there was a big chance of getting a team who we already met, or will meet this season. My last Final4 memory about Kiel is a positive one, when we beat them in extra time. Last year and this season we lost twice and achieved a draw in the group phases. I expect a tough game against a German team in Germany. No matter which team will win this tournament, one can say that it is the reality, because I think that Europe’s top 4 team will meet in Cologne in December.
