Kielce – Veszprém pregame statements

PGE Vive Kielce will host Telekom Veszprém on Saturday at 15:00 in the VELUX EHF Champions League. We asked our head coach and players’ expectations about the upcoming clash.

David Davis: We have to play a game in Kielce with a lot of discipline, because Dujshebaev’s teams play very disciplined as well. When they face a good opponent, their mindset switches to being coordinated and doing the best possible job to win. The key is going to be to play disciplined for 60 minutes.

Máté Lékai: I expect a tough game, because Kielce is one of the best team in the Champions League, despite losing two games in a row. I think this will be an even bigger motivation for them. We met them three times last year and all encounters were close ones. There will be a huge tactical battle, and we also know that Coach Davis was the player of Dujshebaev, so it can make things even more spicy by the benches. We would like to win in Kielce, and although it will be hard, we have to come back home with two points in order to reach our goals.

Árpád Sterbik: Every Kielce – Veszprém game was decided by one or two goals. The teams were head to head all the time but only could get a one or two goal advantage by the end. I think this streak is going to continue. The Polish lost some points against Montpellier, so they are just as in need of more points as we are.

Manuel Strlek: Kielce is a great team, and we play a close match against them every time. We all remember the three games we played against them last year. They have good players, and all in all a great team as well, especially when they play at home. I want it to be a really good match to watch and I hope that we can win there.
