Telekom Veszprém played against Motor for the second time within a week. The guests started the game, Corrales saved the ball from the top corner, but the first goal was scored by Motor’s pivote. In the first minutes there were many missed attacks, then Nilsson and Ligetvári scored after nice plays. Motor used Maqueda’s 2 minutes suspension and took the lead. Marguc scored from penalty and Veszprém took back the lead. In the middle of the first half the teams went head by head, there was an equal battle (8-8). Motor, like on the last week, played in uncomfortable style, leading long attack and the always found the way to the goal. Nenadic scored from back position and made the home lead to 2 goals (22. min 11-9). After the Serbian playmaker’s assist and empty net goal the difference grew to 4 goals. Veszprém had a good flow and scored 8 goals in a row and led 16-9 in the 27th minute. For the break Építők had a 5 goals advantage.

 

Lauge started well the second half with his two goals. The guests forced their attacks around the pivote player, succesfully. In the beginning of the half there were a lot of goals, both teams tried to finish quickly the attacks. Marguc was on fire, reaching the 40th minute he already had 7 goals. Építők played in high tempo, but could not run away from Motor, they fought hard (43. min 26-22). After another good period Marguc increased to 7 goals the home advantage. Veszprém led nice attacks and they always found their wing players, who scored their chances (53. min 34-25). In the endgame Ilic gave minutes to the young players, too. At the end Corrales saved almost everything, Lukács scored from penalty and Építők took a revenge on Motor with a big victory.

Gintaras Savukynas: − Congratulations to Veszprém for the well deserved victory! They were the better team on the court tonight. After starting the game well we ’missed’ a few minutes of the game and Veszprém could extend their lead. For the rest of the game we were trying to catch up with them, but unfortunately we could not. Compared to last week our performance was worse, we missed a lot of chances, and Corrales was excellent in the goal tonight. In defense we struggled too and this way Veszprém could score a lot of easy goals, and we were unable to catch up. 

 

Barys Pukhouski: - Congratulation to Veszprém. We knew, that a hard game awaited us, because Veszprém wanted fight back for the last week’s loss. I am agree with my coach, that we played well in the first part of the game and when we made mistakes Veszprém punished them. After the break we tried to come closer, but it is very hard to come back here from a big disadvantage. A lot of important games await us, where we want to reach better results. 

 

Momir Ilic: − Thank you for the congratulations, respect to Motor! I’m satisfied with the victory, and more or less happy with our performance. We were a completely different team than last week. We started the game very slow, it is a bit worrying, but then we could turn the game around. Our running back is something we need to work hard on. Congratulations to my players and good luck to Motor!

 

Gasper Marguc:- After the last week’s loss we are happy for the win. We have a very hard group, if you do not play on 100 %, you can lose everywhere. I am happy, that we scored a lot of goals, we have to improve a lot, but the most important thing is the victory. We try to reach the best position for the second part of the season.
