Opening press conference of the Final tournament - Final 4 SEHA Gazprom League, which will be held in Veszprem from 25th to 29th of March, was held in Veszprem Arena this Tuesday, 24th of March. Veszprem will be hosting six handball clubs from Croatia, Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary and Macedonia ( PPD Zagreb, Nexe, Meshkov Brest, Tatran Prešov, MKB-MVM Veszprem and Vardar) which qualified for the Final tournament - Final 4 SEHA Gazprom League after regular 18 rounds of the SEHA Gazprom League. The tournament was officially opened with the press conference which was attended by the coaches and the players from the four clubs that are playing the play-offs for the semi-finals. In the first play-off Meshkov Brest, who ended the regular season in the third place, will face the sixth Nexe, while fourth PPD Zagreb will be playing against Tatran Presov, the fifth on the table. The winner of the match Meshkov Brest – Nexe will face Vardar in the first semi-finals and the winner from the match between PPD Zagreb and Tatran Presov will be playing against the host MKB-MVM Veszprem on Friday, 27th of March.

 

 

ZDENKO KORDI, Nexe's coach:

I would like to say hello to everyone. It is a great pleasure to be part of the Final tournament. We are playing against Meshkov Brest which is a good team with a lot of great players and the coach who became the Croatian national team coach. We will play just as we were playing through out the whole season and we will play as best as we can. Congratulations to the teams that qualified and I hope that Veszprem will see some good games in the following days.

 

MARKO MRĐENOVIĆ, Nexe's player:

We are really happy to be here and we are aware that Meshkov Brest is a favorite but we are not afraid of anyone. We will do our best to qualify for the Final Four

 

ŽELJKO BABIĆ, Meshkov Brest's coach:

It is a great pleasure to be here as a coach. The best teams are here in Veszprem and I hope that we will show a great handball. We are playing against Nexe and they are a really good team who plays fast handball. I hope that we will not disappoint the people in Veszprem and that everyone will enjoy handball in Veszprem.

 

LJUBO VUKIĆ, Meshkov Brest's player:

I can confirm the words of my coach. We are very glad to be here in Veszprem. This is the main part of the season and we want to give our best. Nexe is a good team and I would like to congratulate to the teams that qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

 

VESELIN VUJOVIĆ, PPD Zagreb's coach:

We have to play the play-offs because of our results in the regular part of the season. Tatran Presov is a good team with a lot of quality players. We are tired, namely, we just arrived form the Copenhagen but this is not an excuse. We will do anything to win and we will seek the third luck and we want to be good opponent. I am happy that SEHA League is growing form year to year.

 

ZLATKO HORVAT, PPD Zagreb's player:

Tomorrow we will have though match against Tatran Presov. They won us two times this year. They play smart and this will be a very good match because we want to win again after the match against KIF Kolding. We want to prove that we can win against Tatran when we do not have a lot of time to rest. I hope that tomorrow our good game will be enough for the win.

 

PETER DAVID, Tatran Presov's coach:

We are looking forward to the tomorrows game, of course we play against PPD Zagreb against whom we played two time already. We know that they are in a good mood after the game against KIF Kolding. We are struggling in our team lately. We now in what condition we are and I hope we will be playing against Veszprem on Friday.

VASJA FURLAN, Tatran Presov's player:

I am always very optimistic even though we have a lot of problems in our team. We had some injuries. We are playing against very good team and I wish we will play our best game so everything can happen. I hope we will play an attractive handball and that the audience will be happy.

We are happy that from this six tea we have three that are in the Last 8 in the Champions League. That is the prove that we are doing a good job in this League.
