In connection with the Champions League best 16 match on Saturday we asked Coach Ortega, Timuzsin Schuch, Gergő Iváncsik and Andreas Nilsson.

Carlos Ortega: La Rioja is a very fast and quick team, which is one of the bests in fast breaks, so we must be very careful with them. Another main reason why respect them so much because they are very tactical at offense. We have started the preparation against them on Wednesday and tried to make us 100% ready for the weekend. I am sure this will be a hard match.

Timuzsin Schuch: We have started the preparation against La Rioja on Wednesday, because we had had SEHA League and Hungarian Championship matches before that. However the coaches brought some elements into the earlier training that prepared us for the clash against La Rioja, too. I expect a very hard game, because the second best Spanish team is waiting for us that could play a lot of close matches in its group. Now the stakes are high, we must not have bad day anymore. We would like to achieve a promising result even in the first game.

Gergő Iváncsik: The La Rioja plays a very fast, very strong handball. But this is not new for us, because we have been practicing this for a couple of years. This is the typical Spanish school what they do great. They are good and fast enough both in offense and defense, so it will not be easy against them. We want to win anyway, but we must need 100% concentration since the first moment but not 60 but rather 70-80 minutes long, because we will play against a very strong opponent.

Andreas Nilsson: This will be a tough game. La Rioja have a good team, they run a lot, and they have fast players. We must bring 100% to achieve a good result there and then come back to Veszprém. First of all we must be good in defense and punish their mistakes with counter backs, then we must run back fast to defense after our attacks.
