Champions League
Foreshadow: Veszprém – Motor
Telekom Veszprém will host the Ukrainian champions in the Veszprém Arena on Wednesday at 18:45 in the EHF Champions League. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport 1.

This season, our first encounter was held in Zaporozhye on 30 September. The home team picked up the half time lead of 18:17 in an otherwise balanced game, thanks to their line player plays, which worked wonders throughout the whole match. The ice broke in the 44th minute, when Veszprém gained a two-goal lead, from which Motor was not able to come back. The final result was a 34:37, with Petar Nenadic scoring 10 times.
Motor is doing great in the Group phase of the Champions League. After ten rounds, they are on third place on the table, trailing Veszprém by three points. So far, they won six games and lost only four times against Veszprém, Barca, Aalborg and Kiel. The latter beat them in the latest round on 4 February. The most effective player of Motor is, not surprisingly, the line player, Viachaslau Bokhan with 46 goals.
The Ukrainian champions is in some trouble in the domestic league. Although they won the regular season before Donbass Mariupol, in the playoffs, they could only play four games, while Donbass and Handball Academy played 15 times already.
Telekom Veszprém played in Celje last Thursday, and ended a five game pointless streak thankfully. The game ended in a 25:29 victory against the Slovenians. With a victory tomorrow, the “Építők” could gain ground on their pursuers, Motor, and can take a big step towards securing the second position in the group.
Let’s go Veszprém!
