Foreshadow: Veszprém – Kielce

Lomza Vive Kielce will visit Veszprém Aréna on Friday at 18:00, to play against Telekom Veszprém. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport 1.

Our last game against Kielce was also in the Veszprém Aréna. In the group phase of the Champions League, we managed to get revenge on home court, for the loss we suffered in Poland. After an exciting game, we managed to keep the two points at home, with a 28:24 result. The top scorer of Veszprém was Andreas Nilsson with his five goals.

The Polish champions, with a new name sponsor, started the preparation games on 8 August, against MKS Energa Kalisz on home court. The end result was a close one, 29:28 victory for Kielce. Before the clash against Veszprém, the Polish will go on a Hungarian tour, as yesterday they played against Grundfos Tatabánya, and lost 28:27. Today, they will travel to Csurgói KK, before heading to Veszprém.

Six new players joined our opponent this summer: Nicolas Tournat from Nantes, Haukur Thrastarson from Selfoss, Gigvaldi Gudjónsson from Elverum, Sebastian Kaczor and Michal Olejniczak from Gdanks and Szimon Sicko from Zabrze. The departing players’ list is shorter, but it has more big names: Julen Aguinagalde left to Bidasoa, Blaz Janc will continue in Barcelona, Romaric Guillo returned to France to Cesson Rennes, Mateusz Jachlewski signed with Gdansk, while Doruk Pehlivan joind Minden.

Telekom Veszprém played on home court last time against Balatonfüred. After the game, the home team could not be satisfied with the result, as the neighbors left with a point after clinching a 26:26 result.
