Foreshadow: Veszprém – Aalborg

 

Telekom Veszprém will once again face Aalborg Handbold on Wednesday at 18:45, but this time on home court in the Veszprém Arena. The game will be played behind closed doors, and will be broadcasted live by Sport 1. The official match programme can be downloaded by clicking >>HERE<<.

 

 

Our guest appearance did not start the best in the first half. Our players were rushing attacks, from which the home team managed to score easy goals to Cupara. The defense was not the level they should have been, hence Aalborg grabbing a two-goals lead for the half time, 18:16. Veszprém came out to the second period all pumped up, and with Petar Nenadic’s six goals, and Vladimir Cupara’s 45% saving efficiency, managed to turn the game around. The six goals difference at the final result might show a confident performance, but the Danish champions made our job all the most difficult.

 

Aalborg continued their great streak in the Herre Handbold Ligaen. Last Saturday they travelled to KIF Kolding and won 32:39. With this victory they are still in the lead with GOG trailing them by a point. Against Kolding Buster Juul-Lassen and Nikolaj Christensen both scored seven times.

 

Telekom Veszprém did not play in the Hungarian league this weekend, so their last game was against Aalborg a week ago. In this whole week of preparation David Davis did a great job with his boys, who would like to beat the Danish once again, by correcting most mistakes from last week.
