The Építők hosted Eger in the Veszprém Aréna. Veszprém started the game, but Eger scored the first goal and Blagotinsek equalized right away. In the first minutes, the guest goalkeeper showed some nice saves, but despite of this Tönnesen scored the fourth Veszprém goal in the 5. minute. The two pivots, Blagotinsek and Füzi scored many goals from the line. With Gajic’s goal the difference was 3 goals for the first time (7-4). After that, Eger scored 3 goals in a row and equalized. Borozan was on fire again and bombed huge goals. At the half of the first half the home team led by only one goal (12-11). David Davis was not satisfied, took a timeout and changed in the middle positions. Székely changed Cupara in the goal. Both team played in a high tempo and a lot of goals were scored (20. min 16-13). The 20. Veszprém and his own 5. goal was scored by Gajic and after that Veszprém ran away from Eger. In the first half, the audience could see a goal parade.

 

After the break Tönnesen and Blagotinsek scored, a double and the defenses still were not so hard. (38. min 35-21). Cupara came back to the goal and showed some nice saves, in attack Blagotinsek scored many goals. The 40. Veszprém goal happened in the 47. minute (40-24). Mahé scored tricky goal and Székely came again to the court 10 minutes before the end. Moraes came also and scored a hilarious behind the back goal. The Slovenian players of Veszprém scored the most goals in the game. With Manaskov’s goal the home team reached the 50. goals and won a game what was rich in goals.

 

 

David Davis: First of all, thanks for Eger to have agreed to play this game today. We played this game seriously. We scored a lot of goals, but did not want to disrespect the opponent of course. We tried 5-1 and 6-0 in defense. After playing 3 games in 5 days, I am pretty satisfied with the performance of the team and the form of the players. We have Blagotinsek next to me, and I am happy about him. He always asked me to have more time in attack and today I could give him that. I hope that he can continue this way because it is really important that everyone plays attack and defense as well. I am happy for him.

Blaz Blagotinsek: What can I say, David told every important things before. This is our third match in five days. We did not start well, but we kept the game under control. We conceded too many goals, but despite of this we played a pretty good match.

 

 

Edmond Tóth: Congratulations to Veszprém and good luck to them for the future. We prepared to them as last year: with nothing. There is no preparation to them and this is not a game that we should waste a lot of time. Our tactic was to run for our life and score as many goals as possible, and maybe play as good in offense as we can. I think we cannot do anything against this kind of line player movement in defense. There are huge pivots in the wall, and if we do not pay attention to them, they have huge back players who jump us over. We can be happy with the 30 goals. We could come out positively out of this game. A bit of negativity was that we had some problems in running back. This is a world-class team, and we are just a Hungarian first division team. This is what we could make of it.

 

Dániel Füzi: Congratulation to Veszprém, the coach said everything before me. We have to prove against our rivals. At this moment, we have some injured players, but it cannot be an excuse. We have to win matches in the lower house, we have to be competitive there.
