This time Telekom Veszprém played a local derby against Balafonfüredi KSE. Füred started the game, but Nenadic scored the first goal and after that, Jimenez equalized quickly. Then the home team scored 4 goals in a row (7. min 5-1). Nenadic organized very well the play in attack and found the pivots on the line and they did not miss. Tonnesen scored and the result changed to 9-4. Veszprém could score almost all of their chances, but the guests could score outstanding goals too (17. min 14-8). Nenadic scored his 5. goals with a huge bomb. Sterbik saved many shots and the home team scored easy fastbreak goals. Gajic scored several goals from the wing (6 in total), but both team scored a lot of goals in the first half. (23-16)

 

In the second half Veszprém changed in the middle positions and Borozan scored the first two goals. Moraes got 2 minutes suspension and Füred took advantage of it (38. min 27-19). Sterbik still showed big saves and with Manaskov’s penalty 10 goals was the difference between the two teams. Cupara and Fazekas came on to the pitch for the last 20 minutes. Manaskov scored his sixth goal and the result was 32-21 in the middle of the second half. The Füred youngsters fought hard and tried to reduce the difference with Máthé’s and Stevanovic’s goals. Yahia scored his fourth goal and the result changed to 36-25 in the 52. minute. Veszprém still scored a lot of goals (especially Borozan with his 7 goals) and reached a spectacular win.

 

 

David Davis: Thank you to Balatonfüred for agreeing to play this match at this time. We know that they are still in the preparation. I am satisfied because we were very fluid in attack and everyone was so free. The defense was not on the level las it supposed to be today. We conceded too many goals; this 28 goals are too much. I am satisfied with the victory. Also, we have Yahia here, about whom everybody had a lot of doubts but I trained with him for six months and I know what he can do. I am glad that he plays this good and I hope he can keep up on the next couple of matches.

 

Omar Yahia: First of all congratulation to Balatonfüred they played a pretty good match. We also, especially mentally. The chemistry was really good among the players. We played well in offense, we did nice things, but we have to work to improve our defense.

 

 

István Csoknyai: Congratulations to Veszprém because they played with fantastic speed and with good determination they kept the two points at home. I wanted our defense to be tighter and more aggressive around the line player, so we can hold a tight result. The defense and goalkeeper performance was under my expectations. We knew that we are at the home of the best team in the world, so we could not have our hopes up before the game. In offense, I think that we did some good things. The 28 scored goal says so, even though Sterbik saved very well. In conclusion, I think that Veszprém controlled the game all the way. What hurts the most is that they scored very easy goals and achieved easy chances. Now we see, where we would like to get. We will try to win points in our upcoming games. Against Veszprém, we just got a little mirror, of where we are right now. I was satisfied overall, but there is room for improvement in defense and goalkeeper performance. We still have time, and continue to work.

 

Dominik Máthé: First of all congratulation to Veszprém, we have to reach this level. We knew that we had a hard game and Veszprém took a big lead in the beginning of the game. Unfortunately our defense was not hard enough and our goalkeepers’ performances were not good. Our target was that to stop Veszprém to score easy fastbreak goals and we reached it more or less.
