Telekom Veszprém will host Grundfos Tatabánya on Tuesday at 18:00 in the Veszprém Arena. The game will be broadcasted by M4 Sport!

 

 

 

Tatabánya tricked us last season, when last October they managed to beat us at their home. Mackovsek scored five goals in the 26:24 loss, while from the home side, Vrankovic was the top scorer with six goals. After the unexpected loss in the Fall season, Veszprém was even more determined to win on home court, in front of their audience. They managed to control the game and won 32:27 against the “Tigers”. Strlek scored eight times for the home team, while Grigoras and Juhász scored five-five goals each.

 

Tatabánya reached the third spot in last year’s championship with 20 victories, two draws and four losses. Their four defeats came from Gyöngyös back-to-back, Szeged and Veszprém. The top scorer of the team, and also the whole championship, was Milos Vujovic, who scored 180 goals in 26 games. This year, they played one game so far and won against Eger in away, 28:30.

 

 

Top players have left Tatabánya over the summer, but in their replacement came Hungarian international players. Zsolt Balogh from Szeged, Péter Hornyák from Balatönfüred, Gábor Ancsin from Veszprém on loan, Ádám Borbély from Wisla Plock, furthermore András Szász and Vitaly Komogorov from Bucharest and Bence Ernei from the second team of Veszprém will all continue with the “Tigers”. Miklós Rosta, Márton Székely, Demis Grigoras, Zsolt Schaffer, Bence Nagy, Kristóf Győri, Kevin Rozner, Dániel Fekete and Jakov Vrankovic have left the club. Although Ádám Juhász and Vitaly Komogorov did not leave the club, but both of them have suffered a serious injury and most likely will miss the season. 

 

Telekom Veszprém played in the SEHA League last time on home court, against PPD Zagreb. The game in the Veszprém Arena saw the “Építők” happy as they overcame the Croatians with an eight goal victory. Strlek and Blagotinsek scored five goals each in the 36:28 victory.
